GCFD puts a new firetruck in service

Guilderland Center Fire District took delivery of a new 2009 Pierce Pumper. E-47 arrived at the firehouse on Friday December 18th. The members will spent the month going over the truck and learning how to operate it. Chief David Dodge put the new Engine 47 into service on January 27, 2010
The new E-47 is a 2009 Pumper on an International chassis, built by Pierce Manufacturing. The truck has 1000 gallon water tank and 1250 GPM pump with the capability of pump and roll. Also the truck can hold five firefighters and is equipped with 4 wheel drive. The new E-47 will be used to support structure fire attack, all outdoor fires and hazardous condition responses.
